The Difference Between A Personal Profile & Fan Page on Facebook

Really quick I think we need to establish the difference between your fan page and profile page. Here are some differences so you understand each account better. Its important to understand the limitations your accounts may or may not have.

  • Profile Page: This is your personal page that you connect with friends and family. You share photos of your kids, dogs, relatives and important things going on with your life. When you log into Facebook this is what you see first, this is where you spend most of your time. You can go onto your friends profile and comment on her status.
  • Fan Page: This is a page for your business and only your business. You connect with potential customers. You can update your potential customers on whats new with the business, important events going on, news, services and more. You cannot go into someone elses account and comment on their status from a fan page.
