So you want to add your own personal video to your website? Well HelloWorld is the tool to do so!
To use Hello World you will need to sign up for an account. You can do this by going to www.helloworld.com and clicking on the Join Now button at the top, choosing the desired package and filling out the necessary fields.
Once you have set up your account, it's time to log in and start playing around! Remember, if your webcam is external, make sure it's in the desired position.
Once you have logged in, select the icon of the task you wish to complete. You can broadcast live with helloworld friends or colleagues, Send video via email to up to 50 people, IM or teleconference with video, blog with video, podcast audio and record video for your library, manage and organize your videos, and get code to upload them to your website!
Still unsure of what to choose? Click "customer support" in the bottom center of any page. They have the BEST support videos I have ever seen :)
Once you're ready to record, go to Mediavault > Record Content. Under your picture you will see "Start Recording"... Click it and you will get a 3, 2, 1 countdown, so be ready!
Some quick tips when recording... Look directly into the camera and speak slow and clearly. You can also pause the recording to get the next portion of your script, other materials, props or information ready.
When you are ready to stop recording, simply click "Stop". Take a moment to review what you just recorded. Don't like it? Re-record it!!!!
Once you're happy with what's been recorded, click the "Save Media" button.
Are you ready to add your video to your website, blog, podcast or to Hello World's helloTV?
To publish your post to your website, follow the instructions below...
- Click Media Vault in the Media Vault Manager nav.
- Click on Manage Media
- Right-click on the video you wish to publish and choose Edit Media.
- Choose the Publish media on your web-site option
- Select delivery media format drop-down menu and choose the option that bests suites you (I recommend Let the system select the format automatically)
- Select the delivery model: Play directly in web-site, a pop-up window, provide a link or embeded Flash player.
- Once your settings are to your liking, copy the HTML code provided for you in Step 3. Paste it in the desired portion of your site in your web-page editor. That's it!!!
- Click Media Vault in the Media Vault Manager nav.
- Click on Manage Media
- Right-click on the video you wish to publish and choose Publish Media.
- Select outlet you wish to publish your video to (Blog, Podcast or helloTV)
- Enter your Blog post title.
- Enter the content you want to occupy the blog post.
- Use current media attachments (the video you have already picked for the blog). You can also select a new video from your Media Vault, record new media or upload new media
- Click Save Blog Entry!
- Enter episode title
- Enter episode description
- Enter show notes
- Use current media attachments (the video you have already picked for the blog). You can also select a new video from your Media Vault, record new media or upload new media.
- Click Save Episode!
Choose the category that you feel best suites your video and click Submit!
Now get online and start posting some videos on your web page!!!! OH, keep in mind that HelloWorld.com gets updated frequently and some of the instructions in this post may become outdated so if you notice any inconcitancies in this post, please feel free tocomment with any updates!
