Today we're running on near empty, after our 5 day in AZ database building adventure. We're implementing Sugar CRM, which is AWESOME, but difficult to wrap our brains around. We got back on Monday late, after logging 60+ hours, EACH, driving 12, and we are always welcomed home to hundreds of emails. As I was sifting through, I noticed an invitation from Anne Berryhill. Wha..wha?? Michael Gerber's signing his new book in at Sognari in Irvine!
WE LOVE MICHAEL GERBER!!!! After reading the Emyth Revisited, and implementing its strategies, Angela and I have been able to make Cal Coast blossom :) So, of course, I forwarded her the email, and totally insisted she come and take a picture Bill Koelzer style. Yes we're exhausted but it was totally worth it. We'll upload pic soon.
We're total sponges, so of course here are notes, for you wantrepreneurs:
Background:
Michael is known as the #1 guru for small businesses. His emyth books are everywhere and they are awesome. He says selling is a system - there is a way to systemize everything under the sun - and systems are the key to a businesses success.
Michael had some great stories for us about how he learned from unsuspecting people. He reminds us that there are rules to the game.

1. Practice. Alot.
2. Don't complain.
3. Focus
Systems enable you to do everything, even things you percieve as impossible. Seek out the better ways, new ways, THE way. Whether you are a sax player, a carpenter, or a salesman, there is a SYSTEM you use.
Build a system for your business and your success can be exponential. You don't need experts, you need systems, that can be implemented by any average person. Michael said that the majority of business owners he met had no dream, and that is their main problem.
To really be happy in business, you must have a:
dream - vision - purpose - mission
If you can invent a turnkey system to make your business the 'Mcdonalds' of the industry, you are living the emyth :) Cal Coast totally wants to be the Mcdonalds of SEO, we say it all the time. Someday!!!
The Dreaming Room is Michael's new venture and its designed to 'awaken the entrepreneur'. That's actually the name of the book he is signing here today. Its going to help people who want to be business owners and pursue the impossible, from a blank piece of paper with no plan. Come dream with him!!! If you want to go for free to his san diego conference all you need to do is buy 75 books and give them to people you love. After all, its no fun being at the top by yourself!
Michael is on the board of directors for Sognari and he highly recommends their business model. Their motto is 'Earn while you learn and grow'. Go to Clubenetwork.com - Sognari will be the Ehub for OC.
Angela and I are currently interviewing business coaches and considering taking more classes either at school or somehow. Honestly we know SEO, but um, that whole business thing is a bit rough. Quickbooks and taxes suck, and so does working on systems in my opinion!! I love R&D but implementation gets tedious :) Thank God for Angela, she is the manager around here. Emythers know what I am talking about. What do you guys think we should do to grow the business? I wonder what Michael would say... :)

I love the info about Michael Gerber! We need to pick up the eMyth book as you have lived by it for the last few years and I have watch CCWD blossom before my eyes! I think we can apply everything to Jeremy's business; it will be our main focus once he finishes his GC! Thanks for blogging and sharing - Keep up the great work!
